You stop at the lookout, reach for your phone, and the pocket is empty. Somewhere on the scramble up it slid out of an open pocket and into the scrub. Or it never fell out at all, it just bounced against your leg for eight kilometres.
Open pockets are fine on the couch. On a track they are a lost car key waiting to happen.
These shorts zip them shut.
Both side pockets are deep and close with a zip. Phone, keys and the car fob go in, the zip goes across, and they stay put on a scramble, a creek crossing or a long downhill. A back pocket takes a map or a card.
The fabric is a lightweight stretch polyester blend with four-way stretch, so it follows every step up and every climb over a fallen log without pulling. It is breathable and moisture-wicking, so it stays comfortable on a warm afternoon.
A pair weighs under 200 g, so you barely notice them once you are walking. The seams are reinforced with extra stitching where shorts usually give out first.
The waistband stretches and closes with a button. The fit is close to the body without being tight, with an inseam of 18 to 20 cm depending on size.
Garment measurements in cm, taken on the shorts. They can vary by 1 to 2 cm. The fit is close, so if you are between sizes or like a looser fit, go up one size.
| Size | Waist (cm) | Hips (cm) | Inseam (cm) | Length (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 74 | 105 | 18 | 50 |
| M | 80 | 110 | 18 | 51 |
| L | 85 | 118 | 19 | 53 |
| XL | 91 | 124 | 20 | 55 |
| 2XL | 97 | 130 | 20 | 57 |
Zip it. Stretch it. Forget it.
