You roll into camp late, the light is going, and the last job before dinner is blowing up the mat. Twenty breaths in you are seeing stars and it is still half flat. Or you did bring the pump — it is sitting in the shed at home.
Then you lie down on a rolled-up jumper for a pillow, and by midnight you can feel every root and rock under the tent floor.
This mat has the pump and the pillow built in. Work it with your foot and it is ready in about a minute.
The foot pump is part of the mattress. Press it with your foot and it pushes air into the mat — about 60 seconds from flat to full. No mouth inflation, no separate pump, no hose to lose.
Inside, the air sits in honeycomb cells 9 cm deep. That depth is what keeps your hips and shoulders off the ground when you roll onto your side. The pillow is built into the head end, so it stays where your head is instead of sliding off the edge in the night.
The underside repels moisture, which matters on a tent floor after heavy dew or a summer storm. Snap connectors run down the sides, so two mats clip together into one double sleeping surface when you are sharing a tent. In the morning, open the fast-release valve and the air is out in seconds; roll it up and it fits inside a standard backpack.
The honest part. No insulation rating is given for this mat. It is built for comfort off the ground. On frosty winter ground, put a blanket or foam layer underneath.
Step. Sleep. Snap two together when you are sharing.
