You're halfway along a rail trail you've never ridden and the turn-off isn't where you thought it was. With no bike phone holder, that means stopping, digging the phone out of a back pocket, unlocking it with sweaty fingers, checking the map and putting it all away — then doing it again two kilometres later.
The fix most people reach for is a backpack for the phone, keys, wallet and pump. On a 32-degree afternoon that means a soaked shirt and a hot patch across your whole back before you've reached the first café.
This bag moves all of it onto the top tube, where you can see it and reach it.
Your phone slides into a pocket on top, under a clear touchscreen window. You can follow the map, tap the screen and check your ride app without taking the phone out. A curved visor sits over the window to shade the screen from overhead sun, which is exactly when a glossy screen is hardest to read.
Below the phone is a storage compartment that closes with twin zips and opens along its length. Keys, a wallet, a power bank, sunglasses or a mini pump go inside, and you can get to them at the lights without getting off the bike.
The shell is textured PVC and it's rain resistant, so showers and road spray run off instead of soaking through. It isn't a submersible dry bag: if you're riding into a proper downpour, put anything critical in a zip-lock bag inside.
Hook-and-loop straps wrap under the bag around the top tube and at the front around the stem. There are no tools and nothing to bolt on, and it comes off quickly when you lock the bike up outside the shops.
Phone up front. Pockets empty. Just ride.
