Push a Button. Proper Shower.

Four days at a bush camp with no amenities. Salt from the surf is still in your hair, the kids are sandy to the knees, and the nearest hot shower is an hour's drive away. A bottle of water tipped over your head gets you about half clean.

Camp showers usually mean a black bag hung from a tree, which only works if there is a strong branch, a lot of sun and plenty of patience.

This one works from a bucket on the ground.

Here's How It Works

The pump unit sits in the bottom of a bucket, tub or water container. Switch it on and it draws water up through a 1.8 m braided hose to a handheld shower head at about 4 to 5 litres a minute. That is a real rinse, not a trickle: a 10 litre bucket gives you roughly two minutes of running water.

The battery is built in and charges by USB, so it tops up from a power bank, the car's USB socket or a solar panel at camp. One charge runs the pump for up to 60 minutes. A suction cup and an S-hook come in the box, so the shower head can hang off the side of the car, a window or a branch while you lather up.

It is not only for people. The same pump rinses sand off the kids, the dog, wetsuits, fishing gear and muddy boots before any of it goes back in the car.

Want it warm? Mix a kettle of hot water into the bucket, or leave the bucket in the sun for the afternoon.

The honest part: it pumps water, it does not heat it. The shower is exactly as warm as the water in the bucket, and the bucket itself is not included.

The Gear It Replaces

A solar shower bag — needs a branch, hours of sun and patience

Bottles of water over your head — half clean and cold

The caravan park amenities block — a queue and thongs on a wet floor

Hosing off back at home — the sand is already in the car by then

What's In It

Submersible pump — drops into any bucket or container

4 to 5 litres a minute — a proper rinse, not a trickle

Built-in rechargeable battery — USB charging, up to 60 minutes per charge

1.8 m braided hose — reaches from the ground to above your head

Handheld shower head — point the water where you need it

Suction cup and S-hook — hang the head on the car or a branch

Specifications

Product type: Rechargeable portable camping shower pump

Flow rate: 4 to 5 litres per minute

Power: Built-in rechargeable battery, USB charging

Run time: Up to 60 minutes per charge

Hose: 1.8 m, braided

Included: Pump, shower head, 1.8 m hose, suction cup and S-hook

Not included: Bucket or water container

Intended use: Camping, beach days, four-wheel driving trips and rinsing pets, gear and boots

Any bucket.
